Nervous system

The nervous system is a complex network that allows the body to interact with its environment. It is made up of vast neural networks; signaling within these circuits enables thinking, language, learning, memory, and all bodily functions and sensations.

The transmission of impulses through the nervous system is carried out through neurons that use synaptic connections and a great variety of neurotransmitters and neuropeptides.

For its study from the anatomical point of view it is divided into: Central Nervous System and Peripheral Nervous System. The central one corresponds to the brain and spinal cord, while the peripheral comprises the set of nerves that connect the central nervous system with the rest of the body.
