Silymarin is the active principle from the fruit of Silybum marianum, better known as the Milk Thistle. Milk thistle is one of the most extensively studied herbs in use today, with over 300 scientific studies on its chemistry and application.

Milk Thistle is a member of the sunflower family, with purple flowers and milky white leaf veins. The herb blooms from June to August, and collected at the end of summer.

It takes 6250mg of whole milk thistle herb to produce 250 mg of milk thistle extract, the amount found in just one of our tablets! We use a standardised extract from mature seeds, with a guaranteed level of 200mg silymarin per tablet.
