For the elaboration of this product of turmeric longa root extract, 20,000 mg of the spice are used with a ratio of 40: 1 extract, each tablet providing 500 mg of turmeric root extract with 95% curcuminoids or curcumin.
The active principle of the extract of the turmeric root is found in its contribution of curcumins or curcuminoids present in the root of the plant. This product contains a natural extract of rhizome or turmeric root longa providing curcuminoids or curcumins containing three different polyphenolic compounds: curcumin, demethoxyurcumin, and bisdemetoxicurcumin.
Curcumin is the primary curcuminoid in turmeric and the compound for which most studies have been conducted. The standardized extracts of a plant source only isolate these active compounds desired for the final formulation, simplifying the selection of ingredients.
This product does not contain the additive curcumin (E 100), as can be seen in the list of ingredients detailed on the product label. Lamberts® details, in addition to the active nutrients, all the inactive ingredients present in each product.
All our products go through a very strict selection process, which includes the selection and valuation of raw materials before entering our factories, as well as during production, and also analysis of the finished product before going to market.
Many natural ingredients used in supplements are prone to contamination, so we use the highest vigilance and a routine chemical analysis process to ensure that the following elements are absent or are well below the allowed levels. Our raw material tests include the detection of a variety of contaminants such as: aflatoxins, heavy metals, antibiotics, PCBs, dioxins, HAP, irradiated ingredients and pesticides.

*The European Food Safety Agency (EFSA) established an ADI (acceptable daily intake) of 3mg / kg body weight for curcumin. This was based on a study of second-generation rats, which reported a no-observed-adverse-effect-level (NOAEL) for 250-320mg / kg bw / day (3000 ppm in the diet), and lowest-observed-adverse-effect level (LOAEL) for 960-1100mg / kg bw / day. The adverse effect observed by EFSA / JECFA was a slight reduction in the body weights of the rats in the second generation offspring. Given this new data, it has been recommended by the Health Food Manufacturers' Association (HFMA) to add a caution on high potency turmeric products for women of child bearing age. Lamberts Healthcare Ltd., as a member of this British association and as part of its commitment to transparency and safety for consumers, have added this caution, despite many other companies not following this advice.
The HFMA is an association representing some 120 companies throughout the United Kingdom, whom manufacture and supply natural health products under Good Manufacturing Practice standards. The HFMA are an authorized and responsible voice of the UK natural products industry and they work effectively to represent the interests of the industry at all levels of the legislative, regulatory and parliamentary process.
