Why has Lamberts® chosen bovine and non-marine chondroitin?
Chondroitin generally comes from shark species and we are not convinced that this is a renewable resource.
We are also concerned about reports of how cruel the shark fishing industry is. The global demand for shark cartilage has meant the depletion of the world population of sharks and the loss of many of them in the oceans.
For this reason we use bovine chondroitin, as it is a by-product of the beef industry and a well-regulated high quality material. The bovine chondroitin we use is a highly refined material made from GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and USP standards (Pharmacopoeia from the United States), from Australia and New Zealand.
