R/Lamberts® Glucosamine sulfate is a pure compound derived from shellfish, while the Green Mussel (PernaCanálicus-GLM) is found only in the clear, uncontaminated waters that surround New Zealand. Its active principles reside in a protein compound whose properties are unique to this type of mollusk. The observation that the Māori, who regularly consume GLM suffer less arthritis than their continental relatives, led to the development of this compound as an anti-arthritic supplement in 1974.
