[lightweight-accordion title="> Glutamine in intermittent fasting" title_tag="h2"]

Is Glucosamine 500 MG of 90 capsules glutamine neutral? It is what has been recommended to do intermittent fasting, and if you have any more information I would appreciate it.

A/ Thank you very much for your confidence in the brand. I suppose there is a wording error in your question since you mention glucosamine first and then glutamine in capsules. I am assuming you refer to glutamine, however, I would like to clarify that glucosamine is an active principle that contains glutamine and a sugar molecule, found mainly in the exoskeleton of arthropods, in the cell wall of fungi and in many other organisms , being the most abundant monosaccharide.

If it is taken in an intermittent fast, the carbohydrate intake that it would entail and the possibility of breaking the fast should be taken into account.

Having made this clarification and returning to the subject of glutamine, it is the most abundant non-essential amino acid of natural origin in the body. We assume that you have been recommended to take glutamine during intermittent fasting to avoid muscle catabolism, which would be an appropriate recommendation. When you refers to “neutral”, I imagine it means that it does not contain anything else. We can tell you our glutamine is 100% pure. For more information:

The amino acids in LAMBERTS® are presented in “free form”, that is, they are ready to be absorbed and used by the body (they do not need to be digested). Our capsules are made in the UK under strict GMP pharmaceutical manufacturing standards and are suitable for vegetarians.

Why has Lamberts® chosen bovine and non-marine chondroitin?

Chondroitin generally comes from shark species and we are not convinced that this is a renewable resource.

We are also concerned about reports of how cruel the shark fishing industry is. The global demand for shark cartilage has meant the depletion of the world population of sharks and the loss of many of them in the oceans.

For this reason we use bovine chondroitin, as it is a by-product of the beef industry and a well-regulated high quality material. The bovine chondroitin we use is a highly refined material made from GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and USP standards (Pharmacopoeia from the United States), from Australia and New Zealand.

Do you have a specific product with plant antioxidants (extracts of: green tea, rosemary and oregano) to complement with the Omega 3 Ultra?

R/ The body produces its own antioxidants which neutralize the effects of free radicals, but the vitamins, minerals and compounds known as phytochemicals in plant foods provide an extra value. Its best ingestion and efficacy is recommended in standardized extracts of high power and quality.

In Lamberts we have the Antioxidant Complex with extract of plant nutrients antioxidants.

Could you tell me if a diabetic person can take glucosamine and chondroitin, or you can it raise your sugar?

R/ There is not conclusive studies but it has happened in some cases, so we do not recommend glucosamine alone to a diabetic person. Glucosamine Complete is a better option, however it should still be evaluated; and if not Chondroitin, rosehips..

[/lightweight-accordion] [lightweight-accordion title="> What is the origin of the Glucosamine-Chondroitin complex modified starch?" title_tag="h2"]

What is the origin of the Glucosamine-Chondroitin complex modified starch?

R/ Modified starch is necessary to make the tablet disintegrates in appropriate manner. It is vegetable source. Most of the people, who ask us to this respect, usually do when in doubt of a product that contains or may carry traces of gluten. If so, it would be indicated on the labeling. And it is not.

However it is indicated that Glucosamine and Chondroitin comes from a source of seafood, useful information for vegetarians, who may prefer the vegetarian Glucosamine or for those who have allergies to shellfish.
