Many experts now believe that diet and lifestyle changes may have a significant impact on the progression of the illness.

Diet and lifestyle

A reduction in saturated fat intake and the use of essential fatty acids, as found in starflower (borage) oil and fish oils, may be of help. Meat intake should be reduced and the antioxidant nutrients vitamin E and selenium are sometimes recommended. A natural approach to treating this disease will cause no harm and may be of benefit.
